Mighty Mo likes being in Las Vegas. Mo also likes staying at the Bellagio. Why you may ask? Because Mighty Mo won the K-1 Battle at Bellagio III, and on April 30, 2005, he returns for more. Mighty Mo returns to the place where he won it all last time, and is looking to once again make an impact.
Remy Bonjasky however, may stand in his way. At 49-10, with 30 knockouts, Bonjasky is certainly no pushover. Come April 30, these two men will face off in a three round Superfight. Mo himself is no pushover either. Mo’s record is an impressive 25-3 with 20 knockouts! So the only guarantee in this fight is that the fans at the Bellagio and on Pay-Per-View will be in for a devastating fight.
Mighty Mo is excited about his draw for this event. “I am excited to fight Bonjasky. He is a tough fighter, that is for sure. He has great knockout power, as do I, so it could go to either man. I just have a feeling, it will go to me, go figure!” Mo however has remained grounded throughout his successes in the kickboxing world. “I am just grateful to have the opportunity to perform for K-1 again. The fact that I won Battle at Bellagio III, and now have an opportunity to knockout the heavy handed Remy Bonjasky, is just fantastic. I know what I bring to the table and this will be exciting.”
A lot of people are looking at Mo like he belongs here as well. “As the defending Battle at Bellagio III champion, there is a lot expected of me. I like that, I thrive on the pressure. I definitely put the pressure on myself to compete at a high level, and this in itself spells doom for my opponents. But I certainly want to walk out of the Bellagio, still undefeated at this event, and I am confident it will happen. This is a Superfight you don’t want to miss!”
As far as preparation, Mighty Mo has trained very hard for this fight at The Shark Tank with Eddy Millis among others. "He is clicking on all cylinders and looks great overall," said Shark Tank owner and trainer Eddy Millis. "I am very appreciative of all the help Eddy and the rest of The Shark Tank have given me, and I want to do them proud," said Mo.
So for Mighty Mo, this will be a landmark event in his young and growing career. He is definitely looking for a knockout, to add more to the legend of his knockout power. On April 30, 2005, the whole kickboxing world will be witness to his power, and the birth of a star as K-1 presents the Battle at Bellagio IV. K-1 is a martial arts fighting sport that derives its name from its inclusion of a wide array of combat disciplines, including Karate, Kung-Fu, and Kickboxing (“K”), and its intent to determine one champion in one ring (“1”). After being staged for the first time in Japan in 1993 under the direction of founder Master Kazuyoshi Ishii, it later evolved into the country’s most popular sport and achieved popular culture status there as its athletes turned into larger-than-life celebrities.
