VALOR'S July 2005 Fighter of the Month:

Cameron Adams

Cameron Adams may not be a prototype for a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.  Adams however, is a major reason not to judge a book by it’s cover!  Cameron Adams is a very polite and down to earth individual who when in the ring can unleash fury upon his opponents.  Adams, recently fought on Valor’s Home of the Brave show in Susanville, CA at on July 2, and reinforced this theory.  Adams was seen walking around the ring, appeasing the fans prior to entering the ring.  42 seconds later, Adams was declared the winner after a barrage of hard punches to the head of his opponent from the mount position.  Everybody involved in Valor Fighting has nothing but great things to say about Adams, personally, and professionally.  Everyone from Valor co-owners Eddy Millis and Rick Bassman to the fighters themselves continue to say that Cameron Adams is the prototypical Valor Fighter, and will soon be making a large impact in the world of MMA!   The scary thing is that he is still young and still learning from the best in the business at the world renowned Shark Tank.  So as Cameron continues to develop his skills, and rack up victories, he will be making larger and larger waves in the fighting world.  Valor Fighting & Management is proud to have Cameron Adams fighting under the Valor banner.

With everything Adams brings to the table, it is easy to see why Cameron Adams is the July 2005 Valor Fighter of the Month!  Below is an interview conducted with Cameron Adams, which aside from talking about his young career in the world MMA, delves into what Cameron Adams, the person, is about.  Valor wants you, the fans, to know our fighters on a personal level, and not just world class fighters.  Our fighters are real people, down to earth, and great to all of our fans.  That is why we get you closer to the fighters than ever before.  So enjoy the read, and keep checking back for more information on Valor events, as well as more Valor Fighter profiles and features.

What are your goals in MMA?

To be well-ranked and highly recognized.

What is your life philosophy?

The harder you work, the luckier you get.

How did you get started fighting?

I had a trainer come into my gym named Brian Warren, and I was interested  as to why he was always coming in with black eyes.  He told me about Mixed Martial Arts, and since I grew up in karate and the martial arts, I felt like it was my place.

Who has trained you, and in what specialty?

Kickboxing by Eddy Millis & Brian Warren; Groundwork by Jamie Fletcher & Ken Shamrock.

What sports have you played in the past?

Football, Track & Field.  I ranked in hurdles in high school.

Why do you fight?

Because I can’t sing or dance.

Do you have a regular job, if so, what is it?

I am a loan officer.

Tell me some interesting facts about yourself.

I’m like a sponge, I learn all the time.  I am like a chameleon, I will adjust to any scene and conquer it.  I also make friends with anybody, I’ll be friends with a rock until it turns on me.

Tell me about the person you are.

Easy going, easy to make friends, jealous, and a little bit of a character.

What is the worst injury you have suffered thus far, and how did it happen?

I had a nice little sparring session with Sean O’Haire, and broke my nose twice in the same week.  When it comes to inside the mouth injuries, I am a big sissy, but I have had broken many bones before, and it encourages me.

What is your favorite hold, move, etc?

Standing arm bar, for someone to suspend themselves and put themselves in that kind of position is awesome.

Are you married, do you have any kids?

I am married, and I have one kid. I am at the pinnacle of success with my wife.

Any last words?

Anyone who is wiling to bring it, I am willing to practice everything I have learned; on their face.
