VALOR'S December 2005 Fighter of the Month:

Sean O'Haire

There are many questions surrounding the career of Sean O'Haire, as he remains quite mysterious to most outside of the fighting community.  His unique look and raw energy reverberate through you in his presence.  He is a former professional wrestler in WWE and WCW, turned fighter and that has brought forth questions.  However, once he steps into the ring, he proves himself time and time again.  He fights for K-1, which only the elite fighters in the world get the opportunity to do.  And he has risen to the top and proved to be one of the more feared and formidable forces in K-1.  He has trained in multiple styles, such as Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Hybrid Fighting, Karate, and many more by the top trainers in the world.  All of this is in addition to a lifetime of martial arts training make him a deadly opponent.  He loves to fight, and will tell you about it when he gets the chance.  To enjoy going into the ring and battling, makes one even more dangerous, as he legitimately does not care what happens, as long as he gets to pound on someone.  He is, as he puts it,  "The nicest mean guy you will ever know!"  That statement couldn't be more true, as he is a very intelligent and soft spoken man outside of the ring, but inside, he unleashes the rage he holds inside.  There are many fighters in the game, but very few stand out, and Sean O'Haire is one of the few, and he stands out for all the right reasons.  For these reasons and more, although it is long overdue, Valor is proud to announce Sean O'Haire to be the final Fighter of the Month for 2005!

Below is an interview conducted with Sean O’Haire while on a pro wrestling tour in South Africa, which brings you inside the mind of the man himself.  Valor wants you, the fans, to know our fighters on a personal level, and not just world class fighters.  Our fighters are real people, down to earth, and great to all of our fans.  That is why we get you closer to the fighters than ever before.  So enjoy the read, and keep checking back for more information on Valor events, as well as more Valor Fighter profiles and features.

What are your goals in life?

To have a great family, and to be happy with my wife.  I would like to learn to teach people the right ways of Mixed Martial Arts.  I would also like to help people become better people as they get older.

What are your goals in MMA?

To be the Champ!

What is your life philosophy?

Do unto others as they would do unto you.

How did you get started fighting?

Pre-School.

Who has trained you, and in what specialty?

Hungar Kung Fu under Tim Quickmier, Jerry Mills in Karate, Muay Thai from Philip Nurse  in New York and Rick Davis in North Carolina, Hybrid Fighting from Eddy Millis in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Combat Jiu Jitsu from Charles Hembrink in South Carolina.

What sports have you played in the past?

I ran track in High School one year.  I was actually a photographer, and on the yearbook staff!  Also, I was a professional wrestler for WCW and WWE.

Why do you fight?

I have no clue!  I have a lot of rage in me, and I am an artist at heart, being that I was a photographer.  This is an anger outlet as well as an artistic outlet.

Do you have a regular job, if so, what is it?

Whooping Ass.  I used to chew bubble gum, but I am all out of gum. – They Live

Tell me some interesting facts about yourself.

I am very good at tops. I can do a standing backflip and land on my feet.  I am very hyper focused.  I read a lot of books, particularly Science Fiction and Stephen King.  I can read a book in a day.

Tell me about the person you are.

I really do not know.  I have to ask people who I am.  I will say I am the nicest mean guy you will ever meet.  You can mess with me, but if you mess with my family or my friends, and I will do anything I can to get back at you.  I can be pretty evil when need be.

Brief History of your career, highlights and anything notable?

My kickboxing career isn’t doing too well at 0-2.  I am not a kickboxer, but I did it because I will fight anybody, I don’t care who.  I wrestled for WWE and WCW. Right now I am helping my wife open a business, and working with my partner to open a Martial Arts School.

What is the worst injury you have suffered thus far, and how did it happen?

I scraped my big toe to the bone during a fight in Long Beach.  It took legitimately 6 months to really heal up, because it was scraped so bad.  I still beat the guy in 42 seconds.

What is your favorite hold or move?

I am a leg kicker.  I like to kick a lot.  I love to elbow but it is not allowed, but I am always looking for new stuff.

Are you married, do you have any kids?

I have been married 6 months now, and I have no kids.
