Medford Mayhem Interviews

RICK BASSMAN:

Medford, OR was a great place to have a show.  The crowd was tremendous, and added to the show, which was unbelievable in it’s own right.  We had a lot of interest in the show from the locals.  Ken Shamrock was there and gave advice to the fighters, and was great with the fans, signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone.  The local rivalry fight with Garcia and Haro blew away my expectations!  It was great and the crowd was really into that one.  The show looked great, with the 2 big screens, entrance videos, the music, the girls, it seemed more like an entertainment spectacle than a regular fight show, and why?  Because this is what Valor brings to the fans.  We are more than just a fight show.  We encompass everything that made UPW (Ultimate Pro Wrestling) successful and add great fighters to make the show entertaining for all.

EDDY MILLIS:

That was a great show!  The Valor Fighters showed why they are some of the best out there today.  The local fights were great.  These guys give it everything they have.  Haro and Garcia, they went toe to toe and put on a great fight, something both could be proud of.  I am proud to give fighters like this the opportunities to gain exposure and meet legends like Ken Shamrock.  There was not one fan I talked to that was disappointed with the show.  Everyone left asking when we will be returning and were very excited.  Those fans definitely got their money’s worth.  Hopefully, we will return real soon and our goal is to make the next show even better!

Vernon "Tiger" White Interview

How did you feel about the Medford Mayhem show as a whole?

I was happy with the show except for my referee, he looked like he was too busy watching the fight instead of refereeing the fight.  I took some punishment that should not have been taken by anyone.

How do you compare Valor's show to other shows you have fought on?

The shows were good shows.  Any fighter who gets to come on and fight for Valor Fighting is a lucky fighter.  Not only is he going to get to fight a well known fighter, or possibly join the Valor Fighters, they receive a lot of media coverage.  They have television and radio coverage, in addition to magazine coverage.  The show brings a lot with it.

Your thoughts on your fight with Justin Burgin?

I have no excuses for my fights.  I ended up unable to train for the two weeks prior to the fight because I was moving.  I think I could have put on a better show.  My opponent brought his ‘A’ game.  There were a couple of things he did like elbows to the back and head, but overall he fought a good fight.

What do you bring to Valor?

I bring a different style of fighting.  I am one of the most awkward people you will ever see fight in your life.  I am like a Kit Cope without the flashiness.  He has attitude, I too bring attitude.  I am willing to take risks and do a lot of things other fighters will not do.  I try to bring a good show and excitement.  Other people may be able to explain this better than I can.  I like to stand up and bang heads, and go to the ground.  I think I bring a well rounded fighter to Valor.

Where do you see Valor going in the future?

The shows will get even better!  One thing, that isn’t really bad that I see hindering Valor is having guys not want to fight us, the Valor Fighters.  A lot of us are really well known and a lot of fighters might be intimidated, unless they get more well known names to fight us.

What are you looking to do next?

Ken Shamrock has his reality show coming up.  I also will be on Randy Couture’s show in Portland, OR.  There are some other things that have been talked about, and will go wherever I have to go.  I am looking to get my life straight, my head straight and get settled here is Susanville.  Then I can come back and be a force again in the fight world.

Mavrick Harvey Interview

How did you feel about the Medford Mayhem show as a whole?

Another great show!  It was a large venue and well produced.  It was a small town with nice people.  In most of these towns, the people cannot get out to see events like this, so it is great for them, and seeing their reactions to the fights.

How do you compare Valor's show to other shows you have fought on?

The bottom line is that for an MMA show, aside from K-1, because of the level of income they have, Valor is the best show, pound for pound that there is, period.  In terms of taking care of the fighters, making sure the fans have the right seats, and not just the fans in the front row or the VIP’s, but all fans in attendance.

What do you bring to Valor?

I bring my own style to Valor.  I am a street fighter and everyone knows it.  I am to the people, with the people, and for the people, street fighter for life.

Where do you see Valor going in the future?

If Valor continues it’s work ethic the way it has been, if they continue producing shows the way they have been, I see them going far.  I can see them becoming a lucrative company in the MMA world.
