The Soul Collector strikes again!  Valor’s most colorful fighter, Mavrick “The Soul Collector” Harvey reigned supreme at the July 28, 2005 UAGF show.  Mavrick, known for his tattooed exterior and battering style showed off his skills as he represented Valor Fighting in front of some rabid fight fans.  Mavrick made his name as the Kage Kombat Champion, as well as fighting for K-1.  He came into this fight looking for a knockout, and accomplished his goal.  Mavrick defeated Ronin Boushak fighting out of American Hapkido.  Boushak, a newcomer to the fight game wanted to establish himself by fighting a champion in Mavrick.  Unfortunately for him, Mavrick was on top of his game, winning at 1:03 of the second round after Boushak tapped out.  Mavrick was in the mount and was pummeling Boushak with rights and lefts, before he tapped out.  Valor co-president Eddy Millis worked Mavrick’s corner and was extremely proud of his protégé.  “This guy is an animal” Millis stated.  “He is very focused, and he is a great example of what a Valor Fighter should be.”  Valor representative Mighty Mo, who recently KO’d Botha on a K-1 show, also came to see Mavrick do what he does best.  Here is what Mavrick had to say regarding the fight.

"We took the fight on a two week notice.  He was supposed to be a stand up fighter.  Unfortunately, we noticed the insignia on his shorts, and knew he had been grappling.  I came in weighing 185 pounds, and he weighed in at 205, he felt kind of heavy.  The bottom line is this:  To the people, With the people, and For the people; Street Fighter for life!  You cannot train to fight me.  I would not want to fight me.  I am not a wrestler, I am not a boxer, I am not a kickboxer, I am the next generation of fighter that is out there.  I am unorthodox, uncalled for, and unknowing, at any given moment I can do anything way out there.  I just wish all the fighters the best of luck that come out to fight me."
