Showdown At Cache Creek II
postponed until September 15, 2006
Valor Fighting's scheduled event (Showdown At Cache Creek II) on
June 9, 2006 at The Cache Creek Casino Resort Event Center has been
postponed until September 15, 2006. Tickets are already on sale
for the new date. The reasons for the postponement of the event are
as follow:
- The California State Athletic
Commission's approval of a ring as proper for MMA competition has
not been finalized as of yet; and has taken longer than originally
expected. Given the fact that Valor Fighting is a CSAC licensed
promotion, it is crucial that we remain in compliance with all CSAC
rules and regulations in terms of our events. We intend to use a
ring at our Valor Fighting events at Cache Creek, and do not want to
do so until it is officially endorsed by CSAC. The approval of
ring-based MMA competition is expected to take place within 2-3
months.
- The roster for our fight card has
been riddled with injuries. Several of our featured fighters for
the original date (6/9) including Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch,
"Japanese Assassin" Kengo Ura, Brian Pardoe (Dan Severn's opponent),
and Hawaii's Kolo Koka are unable to compete on that date due to
recent injuries. As a result, we at Valor feel that if ignored this
and ran the event on 6/9, we would not deliver what is promised on
current advertisements.
We apologize for any inconvenience this
causes. Come September 15, it will be clear to all fans in
attendance that Showdown At Cache Creek II was well worth the wait!
